Wow. Simply wow. I have not seen such brilliant film making in so long a tear nearly streamed down my cheek as the credits began to roll. I don’t want to spoil anything in this review because I FIRMLY BELIEVE EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE! And I know some of you won’t do that when you know what’s happened. So now the big question is where to begin?
AP Days is a wonderful time of year for those of us who regularly attend the park to get a special little shout out from the Disney powers that be. I know some people get disappointed that as a pass holder we pay quite a bit of money (and some of us might spend more than we should in the park too…*cough cough*me*cough cough*), some people feel like there should be more done for pass holders during AP Days. I can understand that and see where they are coming from, but I do really enjoy the Disney events and like the positive attitude of cast members and guests alike during AP Days.
Last year I was able to make it to the early February AP Days but missed the ones in the fall. I realize now that the experience was more confusing than I realized last year, I remember getting buttons but I think I didn’t take full advantage of the event last year like I did this year!
I almost fell asleep. I almost FELL ASLEEP. I almost fell asleep in a theater. I almost fell asleep in a theater THREE different times. I almost fell asleep in a theater three different time watching a horror movie!!!!!!
I don’t want to ruin this one for anyone, so this review actually will NOT HAVE SPOILERS!! Some basic things to know about my experience, first I have not seen the Lego Movie, so there might be some basic references to this movie that I might have missed but I don’t think it impacted my experience at all, and secondly I am not the biggest Batman fan ever. I really enjoy Batman, but I grew up in a Marvel household. Batman was the one of the only exceptions but I wasn’t really exposed to much about Batman or the DC Universe growing up. Most of my knowledge about the lineage of Batman comes from the Adam West movie and the 80’s movie line, Batman the Animated Series, Some of the Animated movies, the Arkham video games, a few comics (Mostly ones with Harley Quinn and Joker), and the last Batman V Superman movie. I know of a lot OF characters like Calendar Man and Clayface but don’t know the history or various story lines of these characters. I really do have an appreciation for the Batman characters and hope at some point to delve more into the DC Universe, but that’s for another day, and possibly another review, so now on to the movie.
Since this is my favorite time of year I was so happy to get another chance to enjoy the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disneyland California Adventure! If you haven’t read my first post about this celebration, I would go back and read that first cause in this review I just add on to it.
While I love any day at Disneyland, I have to admit that Lunar New Year is one of my favorite times of the year!! I start counting down to it almost as soon as it’s over. Most years in the past have been somewhat simple affairs. The Mulan Lunar New Year Procession has always been the main focal point with one new food cart popping up. This year I was so excited to see the vast expansion of the Lunar New Year Celebration!!! Continue reading “Mouse Minute – Lunar New Year at DCA”
